Bresser Comfort Colour 5-in-1 Weather Station with Colour Display
The Bresser Comfort Colour is a feature-rich home weather station pairing a multicolour LED backlit display with a compact 5-in-1 outdoor sensor. The large 18.7 cm diagonal colour display presents current and historical weather data in a clear, readable layout, while the outdoor sensor captures wind speed, wind direction, temperature, humidity and rainfall from a single compact unit. A tube mounting bracket and desk stand are included, so the sensor can be installed on a balcony railing, garden post or fence immediately after unpacking.
5-in-1 outdoor sensor
The outdoor sensor consolidates five measurement functions into one device, eliminating the need for separate anemometers, rain gauges or thermometers around the garden. Wind speed is measured continuously and displayed both as a numerical value in km/h and on the Beaufort scale, which provides an intuitive classification of wind strength from calm through breeze to storm conditions. Wind direction is reported as a compass bearing. Temperature and humidity are measured simultaneously with an accuracy of ±1 °C and ±3.5% respectively, and rainfall is accumulated with daily, weekly and monthly totals available at a glance.
All sensor data is transmitted on 868 MHz with a range of up to 150 metres, providing reliable signal penetration through walls across typical residential properties. The station stores and analyses measurement data internally for up to 24 hours, forming the basis for a locally calculated 12-hour weather forecast shown as one of six graphic icons.
Colour display and weather forecasting
The 18.7 cm diagonal multicolour display uses amber LED backlighting and presents a comprehensive overview of current conditions alongside historical trends. The locally derived weather forecast responds to pressure changes measured at your home, which often makes it more accurate for your specific location than regional forecasts from external services. Six forecast icons cover the full range of expected conditions: sunny, partly cloudy, overcast, rain, thunderstorms and snow showers.
Calculated comfort values are shown alongside raw sensor readings. Heat index combines outdoor temperature and humidity to express how conditions actually feel in warm, humid weather. Dew point indicates the temperature at which moisture begins to condense from the air - a useful indicator for gardeners and for assessing condensation risk on windows and cold surfaces. Wind chill shows the perceived temperature accounting for the cooling effect of wind, which is often substantially lower than the thermometer reading on cold and breezy days.
Alerts and indoor climate monitoring
Individual high and low threshold alerts can be configured for any measured parameter. When a value crosses the set limit the station triggers both an audible alarm and a visual indicator on the display. A dedicated frost and freeze warning can be activated to alert automatically when outdoor temperature drops to -3 °C or below - useful advance notice to cover plants, drain outdoor pipes or prepare vehicles before freezing conditions arrive.
An indoor climate comfort indicator monitors the combination of indoor temperature and humidity and displays a simple symbol showing whether conditions are within a healthy range. For households with children, elderly occupants or anyone with asthma or allergies, keeping indoor relative humidity between approximately 40% and 60% makes a measurable difference to respiratory comfort and general wellbeing. When the indicator signals that conditions have moved outside this range, ventilating the room or adjusting heating usually resolves the issue quickly.
Radio-controlled clock, moon phase and alarm
The station receives the DCF77 radio time signal and synchronises the clock, date and day of week automatically within a few minutes of being switched on. Central European Time and daylight saving transitions are applied without any manual adjustment. Current moon phase is displayed alongside the time and date - a feature appreciated by gardeners who follow lunar planting calendars, astronomers planning observation sessions and anyone who simply enjoys tracking the cycle of the Moon. An alarm clock with snooze function is included for everyday practical use.
Installation
The base station stands on a desk or shelf using the included stand. For wall mounting, the rear of the unit accommodates a standard wall bracket. The outdoor sensor attaches to any round pole or tube between 25 and 33 mm in diameter using the included bracket and screws. Positioning the sensor in an open location away from walls, roof overhangs and heat sources - ideally at 1.5 to 2 metres above ground level - ensures the most accurate wind and rainfall readings.
