Omegon GUIDE 2000 C Color - Colour CMOS Astronomy Camera

The Omegon GUIDE 2000 C is a compact colour CMOS camera designed primarily as a capable autoguiding solution, but equally well suited for first steps in planetary, lunar and even deep-sky astrophotography - all at Full HD resolution. Built around the modern Sony IMX290 back-illuminated (BSI) sensor, it delivers exceptional sensitivity, low read noise and reliable performance under a wide range of observing conditions. The sturdy anodized aluminium body shaped like a standard 1.25″ eyepiece fits any telescope without modifications.

Autoguiding - Reliable Tracking for Your Telescope

Sharp long-exposure images of deep-sky objects depend on accurate telescope tracking throughout every frame. The Omegon GUIDE 2000 C is fully up to this task. The high quantum efficiency of the Sony IMX290 sensor ensures reliable detection of even very faint guide stars - virtually anywhere in the sky. Short guide exposures and a frame rate of 15 fps at full resolution enable fast corrections even for small periodic errors in the mount drive. Native compatibility with PHD2 and a built-in ST-4 port for direct connection to the mount make this a ready-to-use autoguiding solution that requires minimal setup.

Planetary and Lunar Imaging for Beginners

The Omegon GUIDE 2000 C is an excellent starting point for anyone who wants to begin photographing solar system objects. The camera lets you capture the cloud bands and moons of Jupiter, the rings of Saturn or the craters of the Moon - objects you have until now only seen through the eyepiece. The resulting images and videos are easy to share with friends and family, or you can gather around the screen and observe the Moon and planets live together as a group. The high frame rate and digital binning at 2x2, 3x3 and 4x4 provide flexibility across different lighting conditions and focal lengths.

Deep-Sky Astrophotography

The high sensitivity of the modern CMOS chip makes imaging faint objects such as nebulae and galaxies considerably more accessible than it was just a few years ago. The low read noise and high quantum efficiency of the Sony IMX290 sensor allow details to be recorded that are completely invisible through visual observation. The camera therefore offers an accessible entry point into deep-sky astrophotography without the need for more specialised and expensive equipment.

Design and Versatility

The camera body is machined from anodized aluminium and its shape and dimensions match those of a standard 1.25″ eyepiece, making it compatible with any telescope equipped with a standard focuser. At just 90 grams it places virtually no strain on the focuser or guide scope. The front of the camera features a C-Mount and CS-Mount thread, allowing direct attachment of compact CCTV lenses. Using the included adapter, a standard 1.25″ filter thread becomes available, opening up a wide selection of astronomical filters.

The colour version of the camera is equipped with an integrated IR-cut filter, which prevents colour shifts caused by the sensitivity of CMOS sensors to infrared light. The resulting images deliver accurate colour representation without any additional post-processing corrections.

Compatibility and Software

The camera is compatible with a wide range of astrophotography programs through the standard ASCOM and INDI interfaces. Native support includes PHD2 and N.I.N.A., among others. Drivers and software are available as a free download. The camera works with Windows 7, 8 and 10, and with Linux via the INDI interface.
