The Bresser VentAir H is a practical indoor/outdoor thermometer and hygrometer with a built-in ventilation recommendation that takes the guesswork out of maintaining healthy air quality at home or in the office. Rather than simply displaying temperature and humidity numbers, the device continuously analyses indoor and outdoor conditions and tells you directly when opening a window will genuinely improve the air inside. The slim anthracite-coloured unit is operated entirely by touch controls on the display surface and includes an integrated clock and alarm alongside all climate monitoring functions.

Ventilation recommendation and mould prevention

Most people ventilate by habit - opening windows in the morning, or when a room feels stuffy. The problem is that ventilating at the wrong moment can make indoor humidity worse rather than better. If outdoor air is warmer and more humid than the air inside, bringing it indoors increases moisture levels and accelerates the conditions that lead to condensation and mould growth on walls, window frames and in corners.

The VentAir H solves this by comparing measured indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity simultaneously and displaying a clear ventilation recommendation based on the actual difference between the two environments. When ventilating will improve indoor conditions, the display indicates it is the right moment to act. When outdoor conditions would worsen the indoor climate, the recommendation advises against it. Following this guidance consistently keeps relative humidity within the healthy range of approximately 40-60%, preventing both the excess moisture that encourages mould and the excessively dry air that causes discomfort, irritates the respiratory tract and damages wooden surfaces during the heating season.

The comfort indicator provides an additional quick-reference assessment of current indoor conditions, showing at a glance whether temperature and humidity are within an acceptable range without requiring interpretation of individual readings.

Indoor and outdoor monitoring

The base station measures indoor temperature and humidity directly with an accuracy of ±1 °C and ±5% respectively. The included wireless outdoor sensor extends monitoring to any external or secondary indoor location within 50 metres, transmitting on 433 MHz. The sensor carries IP44 certification for protection against water splashing from any direction, making it suitable for exposed outdoor positions on a balcony railing, garden wall or fence post. It has its own LCD display showing current temperature and humidity readings directly on the sensor body - useful when the sensor is placed in a greenhouse, garage or shed that is checked regularly.

Minimum and maximum values for both temperature and humidity - both indoor and outdoor - are stored in memory and can be recalled with a touch to review how conditions have varied over time. This historical overview is particularly helpful for identifying rooms or periods when humidity regularly exceeds safe levels, pointing to where improved ventilation habits or structural measures may be needed.

Clock, alarm and display

The 14.4 cm diagonal backlit display shows all key information simultaneously - indoor temperature, outdoor temperature, indoor humidity, outdoor humidity, ventilation recommendation, comfort indicator and the current time. Large 1.5 cm digits ensure comfortable readability from a normal viewing distance. The display activates on touch, conserving battery power while remaining convenient to check in low light. An integrated alarm clock adds practical everyday functionality, making the VentAir H suitable as a bedside or kitchen unit as well as a dedicated climate monitor.

The base station is battery-powered only - three AAA batteries (not included) power the unit without the need for mains access, allowing flexible placement anywhere in the room. The outdoor sensor runs on two AAA batteries (not included). Both units can be placed on a flat surface using the integrated stand or mounted on a wall.
