Explore Scientific LER Ar 9mm 62° 1.25″ eyepiece

Looking for an eyepiece that delivers high performance even with fast optical systems, won't fog up on cold nights, and won't have you craning your neck at every observing session? The Explore Scientific eyepiece from the 62° LER series is exactly what you've been searching for. It combines outstanding optical properties with a well-thought-out ergonomic design - all in the 1.25″ format that fits the vast majority of telescopes.

Excellent optics across the entire field of view

The 62° LER series from Explore Scientific is built on a combination of modern optical glass substrates and strict outgoing quality control. The result is an eyepiece with outstanding sharpness and high resolution across the full 62° field of view - with no noticeable blurring or distortion at the edges, even when used with fast telescopes (low f/number). Contrast is significantly enhanced by the patented EMD multi-layer coating (Enhanced Multi-Deposition), which minimises reflections, ghosts and flare. Whether you are observing planets, the Moon or deep-sky objects, images are clean, detailed and with natural brightness rendition.

Long eye relief - comfortable observing, even with glasses

An eye relief of 12 mm provides sufficient distance between the eye lens and the eye, so you see the entire field of view without corner shading, even if you wear glasses. The fold-down rubber eyecups allow quick adjustment: without glasses you fold them out for maximum comfort, with glasses you simply fold them down. The Explore Scientific LER eyepiece is the ideal choice for astronomers who wear glasses and are tired of the compromises and discomfort of cheaper eyepieces. The typical neck and eye fatigue during longer observing sessions is also significantly reduced.

Argon-filled and waterproof construction

A technically very important detail: the eyepiece is sealed and filled with inert argon gas. This has two key practical consequences - first, no condensation forms inside even during significant temperature changes between an observatory and the outdoor environment, and second, dust, moisture and mould cannot get inside. Forget about cleaning internal lenses or the frustration of a fogged eyepiece on a damp night. The waterproof and argon-filled design ensures a long service life and reliable performance in demanding field conditions.

About Explore Scientific

Explore Scientific is an American company with a long tradition in astronomical optics, which has built a solid reputation thanks to its rigorous approach to manufacturing quality and innovation. The LER series was created in response to the real demands of astronomers - both visual observers and astrophotographers. Every eyepiece goes through strict outgoing quality control, and customer service is at a high standard. If you are looking for an eyepiece where you know exactly what you are getting, and which will last years of daily use both in the field and at the observatory, the Explore Scientific 9mm 62° LER Ar is a choice you won't regret.
