Binorum DarkSky 2 Light Pollution Filter Binorum DarkSky 2″ Light Pollution Filter Astronomical observations demand dark skies free from light pollution - only then can the mysteries of the universe reveal themselves to the observer. The revolutionary Binorum DarkSky 2″ filter delivers exactly such skies by limiting the interference from street lighting and reducing the background glow of the night sky, allowing details of observed objects to emerge clearly. Thanks to the filter's selective transmission properties, contrast of low-contrast objects is significantly enhanced. You can now observe much more structural detail on Jupiter's cloud bands and intricate features across the lunar surface. The filter dramatically improves...

Binorum UHC 2 Ultra High Contrast Nebula Filter Binorum UHC 2″ Ultra High Contrast Nebula Filter The Essential Tool for Deep-Sky Observation The Binorum UHC 2″ filter stands as the most popular filter choice among amateur astronomers for observing planetary and emission nebulae. This specialized optical accessory transforms deep-sky observation by selectively enhancing the visibility of nebular structures while suppressing unwanted background light that diminishes contrast and obscures faint celestial details. Advanced Selective Wavelength Transmission The UHC (Ultra High Contrast) filter employs precision optical coatings engineered to transmit specific wavelengths critical to nebula observation - OIII (doubly ionized oxygen at 496nm and 501nm), H-alpha (656nm), and H-beta (486nm)...

Explore Scientific 18mm 82° 2″ eyepiece

Are you looking for an eyepiece that will let you truly experience the night sky - not just peek through a lens, but literally immerse yourself in the universe? The wide-angle Explore Scientific 18mm eyepiece with an 82° apparent field of view and a 2″ barrel diameter is exactly what experienced astronomers are looking for. A six-element optical design, argon filling and fully multi-coated optics - all in one premium eyepiece.

Wide 82° field of view - a natural view of the sky

The eyepiece uses a six-element optical system that delivers an exceptionally wide apparent field of view of 82°. At such an angle, the observer's eye naturally relaxes - it is not forced to look through a narrow "peephole", but perceives the scene with peripheral vision just as naturally as when looking at the night sky with the naked eye. The result is greater comfort during long observing sessions and the ability to capture fine details right to the edges of the field of view.

The 18mm focal length makes it a versatile tool suitable for both planetary and deep-sky observation - offering moderate magnification with excellent light throughput and a spacious, immersive view.

13mm eye relief - comfortable for eyeglass wearers

The 13mm eye relief is one of the key parameters of this eyepiece. It means that observers who wear glasses can use the eyepiece comfortably, as the eye does not need to be pressed directly against the lens. The soft rubber eyecup is fold-down and well shaped, eliminating unwanted stray light while also protecting both the eye and the eyepiece during handling. The overall body construction is robust, with a matte black finish that prevents internal reflections.

Argon filling and FMC coatings for the clearest possible image

Argon filling protects the internal optics from fogging and moisture condensation - a significant advantage when moving from a warm interior into the cold night air. The inert argon gas also prevents dust accumulation and oxidation of lens surfaces. All optical surfaces are equipped with FMC coatings (fully multi-coated anti-reflection coatings), which maximise light transmission and eliminate unwanted ghost images and reflections. The matte black layer on the inner walls of the housing and on the edges of the lenses further suppresses light scatter and increases image contrast.

Who is this eyepiece for?

The Explore Scientific 18mm 82° eyepiece is appreciated by experienced astronomers who want to get the most out of every observing session - whether they are observing nebulae and star clusters that require a wide field of view, or planets where contrast and image clarity matter most. The 2″ barrel ensures compatibility with all standard astronomical telescopes with a 2″ focuser drawtube. The robust and durable construction makes it a reliable companion for many years of observing.
