Why parfocal rings make a real difference
Every eyepiece has its own focal position - the distance at which it must be inserted into the focuser to produce a sharp image. When you alternate between, say, a 10 mm and a 25 mm eyepiece from different manufacturers, the difference in focal positions can be several millimetres, which means searching for focus again and again. Omegon parfocal rings solve this elegantly: slip a ring onto each eyepiece, set the focal position once, and from that moment all equipped eyepieces are mutually parfocal - switching between them requires no refocusing at all.
The same principle works when combining an eyepiece with an astronomy camera. If you want to switch quickly between visual observing and imaging without lengthy focus hunting, these rings become an indispensable tool.
