Binorum Bahtinov Focusing Mask 270-330 mm
The Bahtinov mask is a proven tool that solves one of the most common problems in astrophotography - achieving precise focus. This plastic mask fits easily over the front of your telescope and lets you nail sharp focus before you start any exposure. It is designed for telescopes with an objective outer diameter of 270 mm to 330 mm.
How to use the Bahtinov mask
Place the mask over the front of your telescope and point it at a bright star. Turn on your camera and watch the star on the screen using live view. If the telescope is not in focus, the central spike of the Bahtinov diffraction pattern will appear shifted to one side. Adjust the focuser slowly until the central spike sits exactly between the two outer spikes. At that moment, your telescope is perfectly focused for astrophotography. Simply remove the mask and start shooting.
