Binorum SuperStrong M48 Sony Alpha / NEX E-mount Photo Adapter
If you want to photograph the night sky with a Sony camera, you need a reliable mechanical link between the E-mount bayonet and your telescope. The Binorum SuperStrong M48 photo adapter for Sony Alpha / NEX E-mount does exactly that - it connects your camera body to the telescope firmly and without play, using the standard M48x0.75mm thread. This lets you shoot at the telescope's primary focus and capture detail on the Moon, the planets, and more distant objects such as galaxies and nebulae. How the connection works
This photo adapter handles one side of the connection - the camera side. To link it to your telescope, you also need a matching M48 adapter on the focuser side, which is sold separately. The right choice depends on your telescope type:
- 1.25″ focuser - use a 1.25″/M48 adapter
- 2″ focuser - use a 2″/M48 adapter
- Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope - use an SCT/M48 adapter
The complete imaging setup requires four components: this photo adapter, the appropriate M48 focuser adapter, a Sony E-mount camera body, and a telescope with a compatible focuser.
