Baader Planetarium Hyperion 24mm 68° eyepiece 2″-1.25″
If you are looking for an eyepiece that gives you a genuinely wide view of the night sky while delivering excellent optical quality, the Hyperion series from Baader Planetarium is exactly what you need. The 24mm focal length model with a 68° apparent field of view is one of the most popular pieces in the entire family - and for good reason. It combines comfortable observing, modern optical design and clever construction details that you will appreciate every night at the telescope.
Wide 68° field of view
The 68° apparent field of view provides a naturally spacious view that is especially well suited for exploring large objects - open star clusters, nebulae or the Milky Way. The optical system consists of 8 lenses arranged in 5 groups, which is a well-balanced and proven design for this type of eyepiece.
Phase FMC anti-reflection coating (fully multi-coated with phase correction) suppresses unwanted reflections and increases both contrast and light transmission. The resulting image is sharp, bright and free from distracting scatter.
Comfortable eye relief for relaxed observing
The 20mm eye relief is very comfortable for a 24mm eyepiece. It allows you to see the full image even without pressing your eye tightly against the eyecup, and it reduces eye fatigue during longer observing sessions. This is especially appreciated by observers who wear glasses or prefer a more relaxed observing style.
Fits both 2″ and 1.25″ focusers
The eyepiece is fitted with a 2″ barrel (50.8mm diameter). A 1.25″ adapter (31.75mm) is included, so it can be used with the vast majority of telescopes available on the market without any issues.
The fold-down rubber eyecup protects both the observer's eye and the eyepiece lens. Underneath it you will find an M43 thread - a practical detail that allows you to attach filters or additional adapters directly to the eyepiece without any extra intermediate parts. This feature is particularly valued for astrophotography or when working with different types of filters such as OIII, UHC, H-alpha and similar.
Suitable for both visual and photographic use
The Baader Hyperion eyepiece is designed for both visual observing and astrophotography, making it a great choice for casual observers as well as experienced astrophotographers looking for a reliable and optically clean focal point. The entire Hyperion family is also modularly compatible - individual eyepieces can be combined with other accessories from the Baader range for even greater flexibility in the field.
