Baader Planetarium Ortho Classic 6mm 50° 1.25″ eyepiece

The Baader Planetarium Ortho Classic 6mm orthoscopic eyepiece is a high-quality solution for demanding astronomers who value sharp and high-contrast observation. With a focal length of 6mm, this eyepiece delivers high magnification ideal for detailed observation of planets, double stars and other compact objects. The standard 1.25″ barrel diameter ensures compatibility with the majority of telescopes designed for both amateur and advanced astronomers. Orthoscopic eyepieces are well known for their outstanding optical performance and minimal aberrations across the entire field of view.

Key features

Wide and comfortable field of view

The 50° apparent field of view provides comfortable observation with a sufficiently wide perspective for easy tracking of objects. An eye relief of 4.8mm allows relaxed viewing, although the shorter distance may require the eye to be positioned close to the eyepiece.

HT-MC anti-reflection coating

The HT-MC (High Transmission Multi-Coated) anti-reflection treatment minimises light loss and suppresses unwanted reflections, significantly improving the contrast and sharpness of the observed image. A rubber eyecup provides comfortable support for the eye and helps eliminate disturbing ambient light.

Classic four-element optical design

The eyepiece construction uses four optical elements arranged in two groups - a classic layout for orthoscopic eyepieces that guarantees excellent correction of aberrations. The low weight of just 34 grams does not unbalance the telescope and allows easy handling during observation.

Filter thread compatibility

The Baader Planetarium eyepiece is equipped with a standard M28.5 filter thread, which allows the attachment of various filters for specialised observation or astrophotography. This makes it a versatile tool for planetary observers who want to get the most out of every session.
