Air Blower for Optics Air Blower for Optics The Essential Tool for Every Optical Instrument Owner An air blower for optics is a simple yet absolutely indispensable tool for anyone who works with sensitive optical equipment. Whether you are an astronomer, photographer, or naturalist, dust and tiny particles on optical surfaces are an everyday challenge. The blower allows you to quickly and gently remove dust, pollen, and fine particles from lenses, mirrors, and filters - without ever touching the optical surface. This is a critical advantage over wiping with a cloth, which can cause microscopic scratches that gradually degrade image quality. An air blower...

Explore Scientific 68° Series 24mm 1.25″ argon-purged eyepiece

Looking for an eyepiece that handles long observing sessions without compromise? The Explore Scientific 68° Series is designed exactly for situations like these. It combines a wide 68° apparent field of view, computer-optimized precision optics and advanced coating technology that takes contrast and image clarity to a new level. Whether you are tracing fine details in nebulae, globular clusters or planets, this Explore Scientific 24mm 68° eyepiece will impress you with its performance even under demanding conditions.

Argon purging - superior protection against fogging

One of the key features of the entire 68° Series is the use of argon gas instead of the standard nitrogen for purging the eyepiece barrel. As an inert gas with a larger molecule, argon is significantly more resistant to diffusion through seals - even under substantial temperature changes. As a result, the eyepiece maintains its waterproof integrity and protects the internal optics for considerably longer than conventional nitrogen-purged designs. For observers who work in variable climates or carry their telescope from a warm interior out into a cold night sky, this means virtually zero risk of internal fogging.

15-layer EMD coatings for exceptional contrast

All air-to-glass surfaces in this eyepiece are treated with 15-layer Enhanced Multi-layer Deposition (EMD™) coatings. This advanced deposition process minimizes light reflection at every optical surface, dramatically reducing scatter and ghosting. The result is exceptionally high contrast and accurate reproduction of brightness across the entire field of view. In addition, all lens edges are blackened to further suppress unwanted stray reflections. The optical system consists of 6 elements in 4 groups, and the SWA (Super Wide Angle) design ensures a flat field of view with no visible curvature toward the edges.

18mm eye relief - comfortable viewing with or without glasses

Argon-purged eyepiece with 18mm eye relief is an excellent choice for observers who wear glasses. The fold-down rubber eyecup allows you to set the optimal distance between your eye and the eyepiece, so you will not lose the edges of the field of view even while wearing spectacles. The 24mm focal length makes it an ideal tool for sweeping wide-field objects - open clusters, large emission nebulae or the Milky Way. The filter thread allows easy attachment of astronomy filters without any adapters.
