Binorum UHC 2 Ultra High Contrast Nebula Filter Binorum UHC 2″ Ultra High Contrast Nebula Filter The Essential Tool for Deep-Sky Observation The Binorum UHC 2″ filter stands as the most popular filter choice among amateur astronomers for observing planetary and emission nebulae. This specialized optical accessory transforms deep-sky observation by selectively enhancing the visibility of nebular structures while suppressing unwanted background light that diminishes contrast and obscures faint celestial details. Advanced Selective Wavelength Transmission The UHC (Ultra High Contrast) filter employs precision optical coatings engineered to transmit specific wavelengths critical to nebula observation - OIII (doubly ionized oxygen at 496nm and 501nm), H-alpha (656nm), and H-beta (486nm)...

Binorum DarkSky 2 Light Pollution Filter
Binorum DarkSky 2″ Light Pollution Filter
Binorum DarkSky 2 Light Pollution Filter Binorum DarkSky 2″ Light Pollution Filter Astronomical observations demand dark skies free from light pollution - only then can the mysteries of the universe reveal themselves to the observer. The revolutionary Binorum DarkSky 2″ filter delivers exactly such skies by limiting the interference from street lighting and reducing the background glow of the night sky, allowing details of observed objects to emerge clearly. Thanks to the filter's selective transmission properties, contrast of low-contrast objects is significantly enhanced. You can now observe much more structural detail on Jupiter's cloud bands and intricate features across the lunar surface. The filter dramatically improves...

Explore Scientific AR 30mm 82° 2″ eyepiece

If you are looking for an eyepiece that will truly open up the sky for you, the Explore Scientific 82° AR series is the right choice. These ultra-wide eyepieces with argon filling were designed with a single goal - to provide the observer with maximum contrast, high resolution and excellent image quality in every situation. The model with a focal length of 30mm and a 2″ barrel diameter is ideal for panoramic observation of large objects such as open clusters, nebulae or expansive constellations.

An immersive 82° field of view

The enormous 82-degree apparent field of view is what sets this eyepiece apart from ordinary production. Looking through the eyepiece, you get a true sense of immersion in open space - as if you were looking directly into the universe through a frameless window. The large field of view also practically eliminates the need to constantly shift your gaze from one object to another: everything that interests you can be seen at once. This is especially appreciated during visual observation with longer focal length telescopes, when you want to capture as large a portion of the sky as possible in a single view.

Optical design and coatings

The optical system of the eyepiece consists of 6 optical elements, each of which is equipped with full-format multi-layer anti-reflective FMC (Fully Multi-Coated) coating. This coating ensures maximum light transmission and eliminates stray reflections on lens surfaces, which significantly contributes to a contrasty and sharp image. The interior of the eyepiece barrel is additionally covered with a matte black layer and all lens edges are blackened - these measures prevent internal reflections and light scatter inside the eyepiece, which would otherwise reduce contrast and could cause ghosts or veiling in the image.

Argon filling - protection for the long term

Argon filling is a technology commonly used in premium binoculars and telescopes, yet very few manufacturers offer it in eyepieces. Argon as an inert gas prevents condensation from forming inside the eyepiece and protects the optics from moisture, dust and microorganisms. The result is stable optical performance throughout the lifetime of the product, regardless of the climatic conditions during observation.

Comfort and compatibility

The eyepiece is equipped with a comfortable rubber eyecup that allows natural and relaxed eye placement. Eyeglass wearers can fold down the eyecup and observe comfortably while wearing glasses. The 2″ barrel diameter ensures compatibility with standard focusers and guarantees full use of the light cone even at low magnifications with fast optical systems.

Why choose Explore Scientific?

Explore Scientific eyepieces are among the most popular premium eyepieces among astronomers worldwide - and for good reason. The brand has long invested in the development of optics that combine professional parameters with accessibility for enthusiastic amateur astronomers. The 82° AR series represents one of the highlights of their production: it combines an exceptionally large field of view with high-quality optical construction, robust build and argon filling protection. Whether you observe from a dark rural sky or a busy city, this eyepiece will always deliver the best that your optical setup can offer.
