Omegon Plössl 6.3mm eyepiece 50° 1.25″

Looking for an eyepiece that combines an affordable price with genuinely solid optics? The Omegon Plössl 6.3mm is exactly what you need. The classic four-element Plössl design has been a favourite among amateur astronomers for decades - and for good reason. Its simplicity, well-thought-out construction and outstanding value for money make it one of the best eyepieces in its class. Whether you are observing the Moon, planets or more distant deep-sky objects, the Omegon Plössl 6.3mm delivers a bright, high-contrast and sharp image.

Classic Plössl design - proven and reliable

The Plössl design uses four optical elements arranged in two symmetrical doublets. This achieves excellent correction of optical aberrations while keeping the price accessible. The 50° field of view is noticeably wider than the eyepieces typically included with telescopes - you will be able to see entire celestial objects at once, without constantly having to move the telescope. This is especially appreciated by those who prefer to focus on the observation itself rather than on operating the instrument.

The Omegon Plössl 6.3mm performs well even on so-called fast telescopes with f/5 focal ratios - the edges of the field of view remain sharp and the image naturally high in contrast.

Durable metal body and comfortable eyecup

The eyepiece body is made of metal, ensuring long service life and resistance to everyday handling in the field. Soft rubber eyecups protect against unwanted stray light and significantly improve observing comfort - especially during longer observing sessions or when working under conditions with partial light pollution.

The standard 1.25″ barrel ensures compatibility with the vast majority of modern astronomical telescopes. An added benefit is the built-in filter thread for standard 1.25″ filters - simply screw in a lunar, nebula or other filter and you are ready to observe.

Fully multi-coated optics for bright, high-contrast images

All optical surfaces are treated with anti-reflection coatings that minimise light loss and suppress unwanted reflections. The result is a bright, vivid image with high contrast - particularly important when observing bright objects such as the Moon or planets, where anti-reflection coatings make a significant difference.

Part of a complete Plössl eyepiece range

The Omegon Plössl range covers a wide selection of focal lengths, making it easy to put together a well-spaced set of eyepieces for different types of observation - from low magnification for wide overview views to high magnification for detailed study of planetary surfaces.

The Omegon Plössl 6.3mm is an ideal choice for medium-to-high magnification and delivers excellent results when observing the Moon, planets and brighter deep-sky objects. The quality optics of this eyepiece truly allow your telescope to show everything it is capable of - and that is exactly what matters.
