Binorum UHC 2 Ultra High Contrast Nebula Filter Binorum UHC 2″ Ultra High Contrast Nebula Filter The Essential Tool for Deep-Sky Observation The Binorum UHC 2″ filter stands as the most popular filter choice among amateur astronomers for observing planetary and emission nebulae. This specialized optical accessory transforms deep-sky observation by selectively enhancing the visibility of nebular structures while suppressing unwanted background light that diminishes contrast and obscures faint celestial details. Advanced Selective Wavelength Transmission The UHC (Ultra High Contrast) filter employs precision optical coatings engineered to transmit specific wavelengths critical to nebula observation - OIII (doubly ionized oxygen at 496nm and 501nm), H-alpha (656nm), and H-beta (486nm)...

Omegon SWA 32mm 70° 2″ eyepiece

Imagine looking through your telescope and feeling as if you are floating right in the middle of the starry sky. That is exactly what the Omegon SWA 32mm eyepiece with a 70° field of view offers - an immersive observing experience that both beginners and experienced astronomers will appreciate. Thanks to its thoughtful optical design and carefully finished body, this eyepiece will quickly become your favourite companion for night-time observing.

Optical design

The Omegon SWA optical system consists of five optical elements arranged in groups of 3 or 4 elements - the exact arrangement depends on the focal length. All glass surfaces are treated with fully multi-coated anti-reflection coatings (FMC), which significantly increase light transmission and deliver the maximum number of photons captured by the telescope to your eye. The lens edges are blackened and the inside of the barrel is covered with a special matte black layer. These measures together eliminate internal reflections and unwanted light scatter. The result is high-contrast imaging, sharp detail and a clean, deep-dark sky background.

Wide 70° field of view

An apparent field of view of 70° places this eyepiece firmly in the category of true wide-angle eyepieces. With a focal length of 32mm and use in a typical astronomical telescope, you get a large true field of view that is ideal for overview observations of star clusters, nebulae and extended objects in the Milky Way. The wide field also means you do not need to constantly track a moving object across the view - this is especially useful for observers without a motorised mount drive. Your peripheral vision naturally takes in the whole image at once, your eyes stay relaxed, and observing becomes a genuine pleasure.

Ergonomics and build quality

Omegon has redesigned both the internal layout and the external finish of this eyepiece with a focus on maximum comfort during everyday use. The fully rubberised body protects the eyepiece against impacts and prevents the metal from cooling uncomfortably in cold nights. The soft rubber eyecup adapts to the shape of your face and at the same time blocks surrounding light, so your dark-adapted eye receives the full benefit of the field of view. The standard 2″ barrel diameter ensures compatibility with most medium and large astronomical telescopes.

Who is this eyepiece for?

The Omegon SWA 32mm is an excellent choice as a low-magnification overview eyepiece for telescopes with a shorter focal length, as well as a primary eyepiece for larger Newtonian reflectors or apochromatic refractors. It is well suited for:

  • Visual observation of extended deep-sky objects
  • Wide-field tours of the Milky Way
  • Exploring constellations on a clear night

Experienced astronomers will appreciate the precise optics and effective suppression of stray light, while beginners will enjoy the comfortable viewing experience and the generous field of view.
