    Air Blower for Optics
Air Blower for Optics Air Blower for Optics The Essential Tool for Every Optical Instrument Owner An air blower for optics is a simple yet absolutely indispensable tool for anyone who works with sensitive optical equipment. Whether you are an astronomer, photographer, or naturalist, dust and tiny particles on optical surfaces are an everyday challenge. The blower allows you to quickly and gently remove dust, pollen, and fine particles from lenses, mirrors, and filters - without ever touching the optical surface. This is a critical advantage over wiping with a cloth, which can cause microscopic scratches that gradually degrade image quality. An air blower...

TeleVue Nagler Type 4 22mm 82° 2″

There are eyepieces, and then there is the TeleVue Nagler. The Nagler series from the American company TeleVue is regarded by astronomers around the world as the standard of quality, and the Type 4 model with a 22mm focal length and 82° apparent field of view fully lives up to that reputation. If you are looking for an eyepiece that gives you a true "spacewalk effect" - the feeling of floating through space - you have just found it. A 7-element optical design combined with multi-layer coated surfaces delivers sharp, high-contrast and color-accurate images from the center all the way to the very edge of the field of view.

Optical design and image quality

The Nagler Type 4 22mm uses seven optical elements arranged in several groups, with every surface treated with multi-layer anti-reflection coatings (multicoating). This maximizes light transmission and suppresses unwanted reflections and ghosting to an absolute minimum. Observers of nebulae, galaxies and other deep sky objects will especially appreciate this, because every single photon counts. The 82° apparent field of view is among the widest in its class, so even at medium to higher magnifications you have a large area of sky in front of you. Tracking moving objects or mapping star fields becomes a true pleasure.

Eye relief and comfort during observation

The 19mm eye relief is an above-average value for an eyepiece with such a wide field of view. Observers who wear glasses will appreciate that they do not have to press their eye directly against the lens to see the full field of view. The entire 82° remains accessible without removing corrective glasses. The eyepiece is 99mm long and weighs 680g, which reflects a solid but well-thought-out construction. When using it with a telescope, you may need to adjust the balance of the tube accordingly.

Compatibility and filter thread

The eyepiece comes with a standard filter thread, so attaching a UHC, OIII or any other astronomical filter takes only a few seconds with no adapters needed. The standard 2″ barrel fits the vast majority of modern telescopes. The eyepiece is not filled with inert gas, which is normal for an open construction of this type and does not affect its performance in any way. The UWA (Ultra Wide Angle) design places this model among the best eyepieces for deep sky observation, where a wide field of view and high contrast play a key role.

About TeleVue

TeleVue is an American company with more than forty years of history, founded in 1977 by Al Nagler - an optical engineer and NASA astronaut instructor. The Nagler series, named directly after its creator, brought a revolution to astronomy in the form of truly wide-angle eyepieces with high image quality across the entire field of view. Today, TeleVue eyepieces are synonymous with professional quality for demanding visual observers - from amateur astronomers to scientific institutions. Choosing the Nagler 22mm Type 4 is not just buying an eyepiece - it is an investment in an observing experience that will accompany you throughout your entire astronomical journey.
