Air Blower for Optics Air Blower for Optics The Essential Tool for Every Optical Instrument Owner An air blower for optics is a simple yet absolutely indispensable tool for anyone who works with sensitive optical equipment. Whether you are an astronomer, photographer, or naturalist, dust and tiny particles on optical surfaces are an everyday challenge. The blower allows you to quickly and gently remove dust, pollen, and fine particles from lenses, mirrors, and filters - without ever touching the optical surface. This is a critical advantage over wiping with a cloth, which can cause microscopic scratches that gradually degrade image quality. An air blower...

Omegon Pro 1.25″ LRGB filter set

If you take astrophotography seriously, you know that the final image stands or falls on the quality of the filters you use. The Omegon Pro LRGB filter set in 1.25″ size is precision-engineered for photographers and visual observers who refuse to compromise. Four filters - Luminance, Red, Green and Blue - form a complete foundation for compositing full-colour and luminance deep-sky images.

Solid build, reliable performance

Each filter body is machined from high-quality aluminium, ensuring low weight, good durability and secure threading into the standard 1.25″ barrel. The filters seat firmly with no play, which is especially important when using an automated filter wheel - no unwanted focus shifts or vignetting caused by imprecise seating. Both the cell and the thread are machined to the precise tolerances of the Omegon Pro series.

What is the LRGB method and why does it matter?

The LRGB technique involves taking separate exposures through the Luminance filter (for detail and brightness) and three colour filters - Red, Green and Blue - for accurate colour reproduction. The resulting frames are stacked in software, producing an image with a significantly higher signal-to-noise ratio than could be achieved with a single colour exposure. This approach is popular with both CCD cameras using a monochrome chip and modern mono CMOS cameras.

The Omegon Pro LRGB filter set is equally suitable for imaging galaxies and star clusters and for capturing fine structures in emission nebulae, where colour plays a key role in both scientific interpretation and aesthetic results.

Recommended imaging targets

  • Galaxies and galaxy groups
  • Open and globular star clusters
  • Emission and reflection nebulae
  • Planetary nebulae
  • Any deep-sky object where colour accuracy and fine detail matter

The Omegon Pro series - quality without compromise

Omegon is a brand with a long tradition in astronomical optics, built on the principle of accessibility without sacrificing quality. The Pro series represents the top of the range for demanding amateur astronomers - each filter undergoes strict outgoing quality control for transmission and spectral purity.

Whether you are working on a simple alt-azimuth mount or a fully equipped observatory with a computerised goto mount, the Omegon Pro LRGB set will deliver reliable and repeatable results exposure after exposure. That is exactly what you need when stacking dozens or hundreds of frames into a single final masterpiece.
