Omegon Motor Drive for EQ2 and EQ3 Mounts
Watching the night sky is far more enjoyable when your telescope stays pointed at the object you chose - without constant manual corrections. The Omegon motor drive for equatorial mounts makes this possible. It drives the right ascension axis automatically, compensating for the apparent movement of stars caused by Earth's rotation. The result is a steady, uninterrupted view of your target.

Why use a motor drive?
When you observe without a motor drive, the Earth's rotation slowly moves any celestial object out of your field of view. You then have to stop and adjust the telescope by hand - which interrupts the experience and can disturb your eyes' adaptation to the dark. An automatic motor drive keeps the object centred, so you can observe continuously and comfortably.
This is especially useful when viewing the Moon, planets, or any deep-sky object at higher magnifications, where even a small drift becomes noticeable very quickly.
