Binorum Planetary Deluxe LE 6mm eyepiece 55° 1.25″

If you are looking for an eyepiece that performs well for planetary observing but also handles deep-sky objects without disappointment, the Binorum Planetary Deluxe LE 6mm eyepiece is exactly what you need. This eyepiece series was designed with a focus on sharp imaging and exceptional contrast - qualities that are hard to find in ordinary eyepieces at this price level. The 6mm focal length combined with a 55° field of view makes it a versatile tool for detailed observation of planets as well as a wide range of other astronomical objects.

Optical design and coatings

The eyepiece consists of seven optical elements arranged in four groups. This design ensures excellent correction of aberrations and clean, distortion-free images all the way to the edge of the field of view. This is especially valuable when used with Newtonian telescopes, where lower-quality eyepieces often suffer from noticeable coma or astigmatism at the edges of the image.

All optical surfaces are treated with fully multi-coated (FMC) anti-reflection coatings, which maximise light transmission and eliminate unwanted reflections. The edges of the lenses are blackened to prevent internal light scatter inside the eyepiece barrel, helping to maintain the highest possible image contrast.

Comfortable viewing - even with glasses

One of the most practically important features of this eyepiece is the generous 20mm eye relief. This allows observers who wear prescription glasses to enjoy the full view without having to remove their glasses - which is especially appreciated during longer observing sessions on cold nights.

The 55° field of view provides enough space for a natural and relaxed view of the object, without the need to constantly reposition your eye at the eyepiece. The eyepiece also eliminates the well-known "kidney bean" blackout effect - the partial loss of the field of view when your eye moves slightly off-centre. This means that even with minor movement of the telescope or your head, the image remains fully visible and stable.

Outstanding contrast for planetary observing

The Binorum Planetary Deluxe LE has demonstrated higher transparency and noticeably brighter images against a dark sky background compared to eyepieces from other series. Scattered light is reduced to a level that is rarely achieved in more affordable eyepieces. The result is an image rich in fine detail - whether you are observing the cloud bands of Jupiter, the rings of Saturn, or the surface features of Mars.
