How it works - afocal photography
The adapter uses the afocal photography method - the camera is positioned behind the eyepiece, and its lens captures the cone of light coming out of the eyepiece. This approach is simpler than direct sensor projection and delivers excellent results when documenting bright objects such as the Moon or planets, without the need for any additional accessories.
Quick and easy setup
The adapter screws directly onto the 1/4″ thread on the bottom of the camera - just like a standard tripod screw. The other end slides into the telescope focuser in place of the eyepiece, or together with it, depending on the specific configuration. The entire assembly takes just a few seconds, even in the dark in your garden.
Thanks to the universal 1/4″ tripod thread, the adapter works across different camera brands and models - no brand-specific rings or step-down adapters are needed.
