Omegon 1.25″ Ultralight 5-Position Manual Filter Wheel
A lightweight 5-position manual filter wheel for 1.25″ filters. It weighs just 254 g and adds only 22 mm to the optical path. Both the input and output offer a 1.25″ barrel connection and a T2 thread, so the wheel fits into most telescope setups without any adapters.
No more fumbling with filters in the dark
The Omegon Ultralight filter wheel removes one of the most frustrating parts of a night at the telescope - slowly unscrewing filters with cold fingers. Switching between filters takes just a few seconds: one turn, a satisfying click from the mechanical detent, and the new filter is in position. This lets you instantly compare how the same object looks through different nebula filters - without breaking your dark adaptation and without the risk of dropping a filter in the dark.
Always know which filter is active
Each of the five positions is numbered 1 to 5, so you always know which filter is in use - even without a torch. The mechanical lock gives both a tactile and audible response, ensuring precise centring of the filter on the optical axis every time.
Compact and lightweight - suitable for smaller mounts
At 85 mm in diameter and 254 g, this model is one of the most compact filter wheels in its class. The low weight makes it suitable even for mid-range mounts with smaller telescopes, where heavier accessories would upset the balance of the setup. You can load a complete LRGB set or your favourite nebula filters - all stored safely, protected from damage and ready to use immediately.
Light-tight construction for clean astrophotos
The internal structure of the wheel is completely opaque. The light-tight filter wheel for astrophotography prevents stray light from entering the optical path. This is essential during long exposures, where unwanted light causes gradients, veiling and other artefacts that are difficult to remove in post-processing.
