Omegon ProNewton 153/750 OTA astronomical telescope
Are you looking for a reliable, optically high-quality optical tube assembly for astrophotography or visual deep-sky observation? The Omegon ProNewton 153/750 OTA is exactly what the advanced amateur astronomer needs. A 153 mm aperture combined with a 750 mm focal length and an f/5 focal ratio creates a fast Newtonian system capable of capturing even the faintest objects in the night sky - nebulae, galaxies, and globular clusters alike. The tube is supplied without a mount, so you can attach it to a tripod you already own or choose separately.
Optics and mirrors
The 153 mm parabolic primary mirror made from BK-7 glass with low thermal expansion forms the heart of this telescope. The reflective surface consists of an aluminium and silicon dioxide coating with 94% reflectivity, ensuring a bright, contrasty, and sharp image across the entire field of view. The parabolic shape eliminates spherical aberration - a problem common in cheaper telescopes with spherical mirrors - resulting in pinpoint star images right to the edge of the field. The secondary mirror has a diameter of 46 mm, with an obstruction of 30% of the aperture, which is a very acceptable compromise for an f/5 Newtonian design that preserves high light throughput. The maximum usable magnification reaches 300x, and the telescope delivers excellent results for visual observation of planets and the Moon.
Focuser and mechanical construction
The 2″ Crayford dual-speed focuser with no play is a key feature, especially for astrophotography - it eliminates any slippage that could cause a heavy camera or imaging sensor to shift during precise focusing. The focuser accepts both 2″ and 1.25″ eyepieces and adapters; a reduction sleeve is included in the package.
The steel tube measures 690 mm in length and 176 mm in diameter, offering excellent rigidity and durability. The total weight of the OTA is 5.75 kg. The telescope is equipped with mounting rings and a Vixen-style dovetail bar for easy attachment to any mount featuring a compatible saddle. A red dot finder is also included for quick and comfortable alignment with the target object.

Who is this telescope for?
The Omegon ProNewton 153/750 OTA is an ideal choice for advanced amateur astronomers who want to photograph deep-sky objects or observe planets and the Moon at high resolution. Thanks to the f/5 focal ratio, exposure times in astrophotography are relatively short, which makes the work easier even on mounts with less precise tracking.
Please note that this telescope is not intended for daytime nature observation or for beginners with no experience using Newtonian optics. It requires regular collimation and a basic understanding of working with a reflector. Solar observation is possible only with an appropriate solar filter.
About the Omegon ProNewton series
Omegon is a European brand with a long tradition in astronomical optics, known for careful material selection and strict quality control of every product. The ProNewton series was developed with a clear goal: to offer astronomers optics that perform equally well for demanding astrophotography and for visual observation, at a reasonable price without unnecessary compromises. If you are looking for an OTA that will reliably accompany you on your dark-sky expeditions and support your journey into astrophotography, the Omegon ProNewton 153/750 OTA is an excellent choice.
