Omegon Oberon 19mm 82° 2″ Eyepiece

Look through the Oberon 19mm and you will simply forget about the edges of the field of view. This wide-angle eyepiece with an 82-degree field of view creates the impression that you are looking directly into space - with no frame at all. The 19mm focal length combined with a 2-inch barrel makes it an excellent choice for sweeping, panoramic views of large objects such as nebulae, open clusters and the Milky Way.

Rugged build for real observing conditions

The eyepiece body is machined from anodised aluminium with a matt black finish that suppresses internal reflections. A rubber grip ensures a secure hold even on cold nights. The fold-down eye cup adjusts easily to suit observers both with and without glasses. The optics feature fully multi-coated surfaces for maximum light transmission.

Waterproof and nitrogen-filled

The Oberon 19mm is waterproof and filled with inert nitrogen gas, so the internal optics will not fog up even when temperature or humidity changes suddenly. This is a real practical advantage during night sessions in the field, where temperatures can drop quickly. A nitrogen-filled waterproof eyepiece simply withstands conditions that would damage ordinary eyepieces. The barrel also includes an internal filter thread, so you can easily attach a Moon filter or a light pollution filter.

The 82-degree field of view and 19mm focal length make the Oberon 19mm particularly well suited for:

  • Sweeping the Milky Way and large star fields
  • Observing open clusters such as the Pleiades
  • Wide views of extended nebulae
  • Overview observations before switching to a higher magnification eyepiece

Who is this eyepiece for?

The Omegon Oberon 19mm suits both entry-level astronomers and experienced observers. Its wide field of view makes it easy to locate objects and enjoy them in their full context. The durable, waterproof construction means you can use it in any weather without hesitation.

Easy filter attachment

The internal 2-inch filter thread lets you attach accessories quickly. A Moon filter or a light pollution filter threads straight in - no adapters needed. This makes the Oberon 19mm a versatile eyepiece that grows with your observing kit.
