Omegon Redline SW 3.5mm 70° 1.25″ Eyepiece
Every observer knows the frustration - star clusters look flat, planetary detail is soft, and a better telescope seems like the only answer. Often, the eyepiece is the real problem. The Omegon Redline SW was designed to solve exactly this. Its built-in ED element delivers high contrast and rich, natural colours for both planetary and deep-sky observing.
The moment you look through this eyepiece, the clarity is immediate. Fine structure in Jupiter's cloud belts, subtle colour differences across nebulae, and sharp stellar discs - none of this is accidental. The ED element suppresses chromatic aberration, and the result is an image with genuine depth and natural colour rendering. The Omegon Redline SW eyepiece with ED optics performs well even with fast telescopes from f/5, where cheaper eyepieces typically struggle.
Wide 70° field of view
A 70° field of view matches the natural field of human vision. You do not need to strain your eye or scan around to take in the full scene. Large objects - nebulae, open clusters, or the Pleiades - fit entirely within the view. There is no sense of peering through a narrow tube.
20mm eye relief for comfortable viewing
The generous 20mm eye relief means you can observe in comfort throughout a long session. Glasses wearers no longer face the familiar dilemma of whether to remove their spectacles. The full field of view remains visible with glasses on, which is particularly useful for correcting astigmatism - sharp focus is available without any compromise.
M43 thread for afocal photography
Beneath the rubber eyeguard sits an M43 thread. Using an optional M43-to-T2 adapter, you can connect a DSLR or a compact camera and start shooting straight away - planets, planetary nebulae, or other objects. This thread is not a standard feature across all eyepiece ranges, and it adds real flexibility for those who want to try afocal photography.
Dual 1.25″ and 2″ barrel in a single body
Omegon Redline SW eyepieces from 3.5mm to 17mm focal length carry both barrel sizes - 1.25″ and 2″ - in a single body. The 2″ section sits directly above the 1.25″ section. The practical benefit is straightforward: you use the 2″ focuser for all focal lengths and never need to reach for an adapter when changing magnification. The 22mm and 32mm eyepieces use a 2″ barrel only, to make full use of the available light cone.
A complete range - seven focal lengths
The Redline SW range offers seven focal lengths: 3.5mm, 5mm, 8mm, 13mm, 17mm, 22mm, and 32mm. All eyepieces in the series are effectively parfocal, so when you switch between focal lengths you need little or no refocusing. Colour-anodised identification rings let you pick the right eyepiece instantly, even in the dark and while wearing gloves.
