Omegon Redline SW 8mm 70° 1.25″ Eyepiece

The Omegon Redline SW eyepiece with an 8mm focal length and a 70° apparent field of view is part of the Redline series - a range that combines genuine optical quality with thoughtful design details. The standard 1.25″ barrel fits the vast majority of astronomical telescopes with no adapters or compromises needed.

Wide field of view

A 70° apparent field of view means you see a generous slice of sky, not a narrow keyhole. Planets have room to breathe, star clusters reveal their full spread, and tracking a moving object feels natural. The 8mm focal length delivers enough magnification to reveal planetary detail and bright Messier objects clearly.

Comfortable eye relief

The 20mm eye relief is noticeably more generous than many competing eyepieces in this category. Your eye does not have to press against the lens, so longer observing sessions stay relaxed. The adjustable eyecup lets you set the right eye distance whether you observe with or without glasses.

Coated optics and filter thread

The optical system features multi-layer anti-reflection coatings that reduce glare and improve contrast across the entire field of view. A standard filter thread lets you attach astronomical filters directly - no additional accessories required. An optional camera adapter opens the door to afocal photography of planets and the Moon through the eyepiece.

Who is this eyepiece for?

The Omegon Redline SW 8mm 70° 1.25″ eyepiece is a solid choice for observers who want a comfortable wide-field eyepiece with well-considered features - without paying for things they will never use.
